How to Set Shipping Charges

Guides merchants on setting accurate shipping fees to cover carrier packaging and transit costs without discouraging buyers.

Before You Begin

  • Calculate your average courier shipping costs across weight brackets and regional zones.
  • Decide whether to charge flat delivery fees or order-tiered fees.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Open Shipping Rules Page

Navigate to Store -> Settings -> Shipping Rules in your Admin Panel.

Step 2: Click Add Shipping Method

Click the Add Shipping Method button in the top right header to open the configuration modal.

Step 3: Configure Basic Information

Enter Method Name (e.g. Standard Delivery), Priority ranking, and Notes / Description (e.g. 3-5 business days).

Step 4: Select Pricing Structure

Choose Fixed Price and enter Amount (₹), or select Free Shipping.

Step 5: Set Geographic Restrictions (Optional)

Include or exclude specific Countries, States, Cities, or ZIP/PIN codes (supports wildcards like 5600*).

Step 6: Set Free Shipping & Order Conditions

Optionally specify Free Shipping Min Order Value, or set Min/Max Order Value and Weight thresholds.

Step 7: Save Shipping Method

Click Save in the modal footer to activate your new shipping rule.How to Prepare an Order for Shipping

What You Should See

  • The specified shipping fee added to order totals on the checkout review step.

Common Problems & Troubleshooting

Problem: Incorrect Shipping Amount Calculated at Checkout

Solution: Review active shipping rules to confirm that no overlapping or conflicting fee rules take precedence.

Free Shipping Min Order ValueAutomatically overrides fixed shipping fees to ₹0 when the cart subtotal exceeds this amount.Set to 999. If a customer buys ₹1,200 worth of products, shipping automatically becomes ₹0 free.
Min / Max Order Value ConditionsRestricts the method to carts whose total falls within this specific range.Disable heavy courier methods on tiny orders below ₹200.
