What Information Do I Need Before Setting Up My Store?

Gathering the right information before you start setup is the single biggest thing you can do to keep your launch on schedule (see How Long Does It Take to Launch My Online Store). Here’s everything to have ready before you open your Merchant Dashboard.

Business details

  • Legal business name (or your name, if you’re selling as an individual)
  • Business address
  • A business contact email and phone number
  • Your business type or registration details, if applicable
  • GST or other tax registration numbers, if applicable in your region

Banking and payout details

  • Bank account details for receiving payouts
  • A UPI ID, if you plan to accept UPI payments
  • PAN or other tax identification linked to your payout account

Branding assets

  • Your logo file (ideally a transparent PNG)
  • Brand colors, if you have them defined
  • A rough idea of the aesthetic you want (Shopiators‘ AI store generation asks for this directly — see Welcome to Shopiators: Start Here)

Store policies

  • A shipping policy — timeframes, regions you deliver to, and costs
  • A returns and refund policy
  • A privacy policy and terms of service

Why gather this before you start

💡 Tip: Payment verification and legal policy pages are the two things most likely to stall a launch if you leave them until the end. Have your banking details and policy text ready before you begin, even if you don’t finalize your product catalog until later.
